Exploring our love for fabrics, we took a long, hard look at menstruation products and thought “Can we make it more sustainable, more comfortable?” Introducing our first menstrual product, the Athlos Period Underwear: Washable, sustainable, and better, the period underwear replaces single-use pads on your low to mid-flow days.
PERIOD UNDERWEAR
HOW DOES IT
WORK
A confluence of 4 performance fabrics ensure the right period protection. The fabrics work together to wick the flow away from the skin, absorb the discharge, and lock leaks, all while staying thin and odor-free.
On your low-flow days, it will last 12 hours, and on mid-flow days it will last 8 hours.
One period panty will last 2 years if you average 3-4 washes per cycle.
Used ones: Pack them in a washable leakproof bag.
Fresh ones: Pack them in a breathable cloth bag.

If you replace the use of at least 3 pads per cycle with the period underwear you would:
Reduce the impact of 36 single-use pads on the environment every year.
And if even 0.1% of our urban women population* make the switch, 6.4 Million single-use pads will stay off from polluting our landfills every year.

FAQ
Bacterial infections are often caused because of excess damp and moist conditions. The Athlos period underwear uses a wicking fabric layer that pulls the discharge away from the skin. The discharge is further absorbed by a naturally anti-bacterial woolen layer thereby keeping you dry and reducing the risk of bacterial infections.
Period underwear should last just as long as any other pair of underwear. If you average 3-4 washes per cycle, a period underwear should last 2 years.
Period underwear can be used right from adolescence when menstruation is expected to start and beyond. Leaks that happen in school can be especially embarrassing and period underwear are excellent at preventing that from happening.
If you have a light or mid-flow, the Athlos period underwear should be able to replace your pads completely.
But if you have a very heavy flow, it should be used in conjunction with cups on your heavier days.
Absolutely yes. Especially, if they’re cared for properly. Make sure to rinse them as soon as you are able to. If you don’t have the option to rinse them sooner, store them in a wet bag till you get the chance to rinse them. The natural wicking and anti-bacterial property of the period underwear fabric layers will ensure it stays dry and sanitary while in use.
Very comfortable to wear. I like the hipster fit and the band. Used it along with my cup during my period. Absorbed all the leaks without making it feel wet and sticky.
I’ve used my share of period underwear over the years, and my main purpose is to have a protective layer to prevent my clothes from getting stained - as I use the cup. Usually what happens is that the plastic/watertight layer in between causes a lot of moisture build up and discomfort over time and also develops a smell within half a day. This underwear felt great and the moisture didn’t accumulate as much - there was no smell at the end of the day and that’s a huge green flag for me. The fabric also feels super soft against the skin - I think it ventilates well. I would say this period underwear is the best one I’ve used yet.
I love this product, have 2 period underwears. Love the fit and how it functions. It has worked perfectly for me, especially when doing sports outdoors and camping. Has enabled me to completely do away with pads.
Good fabric and really comfortable!
Loved the feel and comfort of soft fabric.
We want to minimise our environmental impact and have been a work in progress. We always skipped plastic, and since June 2020, we started shipping our orders minus extra tags, invoices, and content that often ends up in trash.
